What our parents say

Don’t just take our word for it. Here is what our parent community has to say about life at our sixth form – in their own words.

Our daughter had a wonderful time there, with a great community of students and teachers. She also received a strong education that prepared her well and enabled her to be accepted into a good university.
Impressed by the experience and the opportunities it opened up for my daughter. Now enjoying university life.
We would highly recommend Chesterton Sixth Form. The combination of strong academic standards, a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and a wide range of enrichment opportunities makes it an excellent choice for students. The quality of teaching, together with the college’s commitment to both academic achievement and personal development, ensures that students are well prepared for university and future careers.
My son chose Chesterton Sixth Form because he felt it would suit him well as a smaller college. He believes that smaller class sizes will allow him to receive more individual attention from his teachers in each subject, which will support his learning and progress.
Although new, you had something to prove but in the right way you knew how to push the students to better themselves.
I would highly recommend this sixth form because of its supportive and personalised environment. The smaller size allows staff to really get to know each student and provide tailored guidance, helping them to reach their full potential. The teaching staff and leadership team show genuine dedication to their pupils, and the range of subjects offered, ensures students can pursue their interests and future goals with confidence.
We were particularly drawn to this sixth form because of its personalised feel compared to others. Its smaller size gave us confidence that teachers would have the opportunity to get to know our child as an individual and provide more tailored support. Additionally, the availability of A Level Law was a key factor, as this is a subject my child is especially interested in pursuing.
The Pastoral care is exceptional. The agency and ownership of their educational experience is evident from the start. The smaller scale feels like a community. Communication was consistently efficient and effective.
It’s a good Sixth Form with passionate teachers. The quality of education is extremely high. The students were helped a lot when it came to applying for Universities too. Chesterton Sixth Firm is a solid choice for any student.
An excellent management team who have a huge, positive impact on the overall effectiveness of the entire college.
As a parent it helps to feel that your child is known as an individual whilst being allowed to be an independent near-adult wherever possible, whose views are respected and actively considered as part of their education journey. Although young in her year, she had matured effortlessly into someone ready to leave for University a few days after her 18th Birthday and it was wonderful to have confidence in the staff around her at that time in her life. Chesterton was big enough to offer opportunities and friendships without compromising on knowing the individual students as people rather than names attached to a set of targets! I (and she) will always be grateful.
My daughter thrived at Chesterton. Highlight the trip to Kenya and support from head of year.
Interesting range of subjects that led to a core degree subject without limiting my daughter to core A level subjects.
Enthusiastic staff, small size, ease of getting there. I think that what swung it for my daughter is that she felt that if she went to the big sixth form all her friends were going to, she would not branch out and make new friends (and indeed they didn’t!).
Enthusiasm from the subject teachers at the open evening, a smaller size so our daughter felt the teachers knew her and could support her learning plus a shorter journey time to college – an easy bike ride.
Both of my children have flourished.
